The City of Wakefield in 1965 - Film showing

Wakefield has certainly changed in recent years – the city centre is almost unrecognisable
compared to what it was even just a few years ago. And anyone who has been to see our Changing Face of Wakefield exhibition at our King Street ofices will have been intrigued to spot buildings they remember but which have long since been demolished.

In keeping with our theme, we have been given a licence by Yorkshire Film Archive in agreement with Wakefield Movie Makers to show a film showing how Wakefield looked in 1965. This 35- minute film, will bring back many memories!

Our meeting is open to all and there is no need to book: just turn up on the night and bring your friends! As usual, there will be a chance to discuss current issues after the film has been shown.

Please note that this is a change to our previously advertised programme for this date.

The meeting will be held in the Tom Butler lecture theatre at the West Yorkshire Police Training and Development Centre at Bishopgarth. There is free parking in the staff car park or on Westfield Road after 6 pm.
